Managers, please follow the instructions found at 23 High School Basketball Registration Instructions before registering a team and rostering athletes. Please also clearly communicate to your players, the process they need to follow included in the instructions. In particular, the need to upload their current year Catholic High School photo ID when they register with the team.

Cost: $1,200.00 per team (paid by the manager / credit card only)
Season: 6 regular season games guarantee (7 games scheduled) and single elimination post season tournament

Location: Saint Thomas Aquinas (STA), Saint James Academy (SJA), Bishop Miege North Campus (NC Gym), Rockhurst, Savior of the World (SOW), and Public Schools.
Very Important HS Basketball
- Each manager, coach or adult advisor is responsible for the eligibility of his/her own participants. Any ineligible players and any Team Managers who allow ineligible players to compete will be liable for a one-year suspension.
- All athletes must have a valid HS photo ID available for verification at each game. Please make sure the scoresheet lists the jersey number and first and last name for all players in the game. Failure to do so can result in forfeiting the game.
- Games will be played between 8:00 am and 10:15 pm.
- If someone 25 years or older is not on the bench at game time, your team will be subject to forfeiture.
- Players Note: players that are on HS basketball teams are not allowed to participate per KSHSAA/MSHSAA rules and serious actions could be taken against your high school for any violations. Rosters will be checked each game. Roster violations will equate to a forfeit and a possible season suspension of the team involved. This is real basketball where teams play for a championship. We understand there are teams that do not take the competition seriously and that is ok, but we ask that you please respect other teams that do and follow our Rules of Competition.
Eligibility - players must attend a Catholic High School to participate / no exceptions due to gym availability and the number of teams signing up
Catholic High School students can only participate if the student attends one of the following high schools. Bishop Ward High School, Bishop Miege High School, St. Thomas Aquinas High School, St. James Academy, Saint Michael’s High School, St. Teresa’s Academy, Notre Dame De Sion High School, Pius X, or Rockhurst High School. A valid current year Catholic High School photo ID will be required to complete the registration process.
Get Uniforms
CYO High School uniforms are required for participation in these leagues (You can also use your parish uniforms, contact the parish AD/DSM to make this request). So long as it meets requirements, you may use your uniform from past years or purchase a new one through Jock’s Nitch, located College and Pflumm in Lenexa. You can now order your uniform online through Jock's Nitch and by going into the store. You may also download the manual form here and submit to Jock’s Nitch in person. YOU MAY NOT USE ANY OTHER UNIFORM.
Managers/Coaches New this year, at least two individuals, 25 years or older, must be reflected as a manager/coach.
Only adults 25 years or older can register teams (Managers), subject to removal from the league if this does not occur. All teams must have on their bench, at all times, a coach that is 25 years of age or older. Coaches, you are required to be familiar with the Rules of Competition (HSBB starts on page 38). Managers and Coaches will be required to attend a mandatory meeting in mid-November, date and time TBD.
Get 7+ players and their student Catholic High School email addresses, register the team per the instructions above, and make payment (credit card only). Players can only register using the automatically generated invitation sent to the student’s Catholic High School email address entered by the coach when registering the team. Your team will not be included in the league until full payment is made and 7 players have accepted and registered themselves with the team. Players can be added to the roster until December 6, 2023. If you have a mix of grades on your team, you will be placed in the oldest age group of players on the team.
Coach Certification / VIRTUS Training Required
As a reminder, coaches are required to be VIRTUS trained and compliant when in the company of any players under 18 years of age. If you or any other adult spending time with minor players has not taken VIRTUS training in person, please plan on attending a session. At a minimum, a parent or other VIRTUS certified individual needs to be present at practice and games until the coach is certified.

Conflicts
CYO will attempt to accommodate school and parish conflicts only. Some examples are dances, ACT, etc will only be considered.

Some parishes, at their discretion might be able to provide practice space and/or uniforms. Please reach out to your AD/DSM directly for more information at AD/DSM.
