Additional instructions from the Archdiocese
When required to complete the background check and policies, plan to have 20-30 minutes to complete the online paperwork. You will need your SSN, drivers license #, and 3 personal references names and numbers. You must complete the entire process all at the same time without backing out. The system will not allow you to save what you start working on and return at a later time to complete.

IMPORTANT:
DO NOT USE THE BACK BUTTON ON THE ADDRESS BAR, OR IT WILL DELETE YOUR PROGRESS AND YOU WILL NEED TO CONTACT YOUR LOCAL PARISH VIRTUS COORDINATOR TO RESET THE BACKGROUND CHECK PROMPT IN ORDER TO START OVER.

THE PROCESS MUST BE DONE ON A COMPUTER, not a tablet, iPad or phone. 
The system will not allow these devices due to security reasons.

Click here to go online to the VIRTUS site

Look on the top left of the VIRTUS site for a login box to login (if you have an existing account) 

or you will need to create a new account by clicking on the First Time Registrant button.

Click on the green arrow to begin the registration process.

Click on the select button to the drop down menu.

Select Kansas City in Kansas (Archdiocese) in the drop down menu to select your Archdiocese.

Next, you will click on the Select button to the right of the selection Kansas City in Kansas (Archdiocese).

 

Select Yes or No

If you select No, the screen will look like this.

 If you answered No, then create a User ID and password to continue.
 Fill in all of the required boxes.

Select the primary location where you work or volunteer from the Location drop down menu.

After you have selected your primary work or volunteer location of your school or parish,
click on the drop down menu.

From there, you will see many options to select your primary role.

Scroll down to the bottom and type in your title or position and

then click continue.


Click whether you are at multiple locations. 

After choosing your location.

Make selections on the next page.

Depending on the selections you make, the registration will look a little different.
